How would you invest $100,000? 

 

Students taking Investments at NSHS competed against more than 2000 high school students throughout New York State in the Stock Market Game investment simulation.  Each student was given $100,000 in virtual dollars to invest over a 10 week period.  And the winner was........

North Shore High School's Own - Joe Granata 

Congratulations to Joe for placing 1st in all of Long Island, and 4th in New York State.  Joe’s portfolio generated a whopping 12.3% return which significantly outperformed all the major stock market indexes…..Now we know what to do with our extra lunch money!!!  Congratulations again to Joe.   Well done!

Raunaq Singh places first in Long Island in the InvestWrite Essay Competition

Congratulations to Raunaq!!  Each semester, students taking the Investment Class at North Shore High School have the opportunity to participate in InvestWrite, a national competition sponsored by The Stock Market Game.   Raunaq’s essay entitled,  “Toyota Bound to Bounce Back ”  provided an in depth analysis of Toyota Motor Corporation stock and the reasons to include it in a real life investment portfolio.  Raunaq, along with Joe Granata, will represent North Shore High School at the Stock Market Game Awards ceremony in June.
