INVESTMENTSThis course is designed to build practical knowledge of investing and how to use and manage money effectively. Topics include the stock and bond markets, mutual funds, real estate, and other investments. Prudent involvement with the stock market and new regulations will be explored through participation in a stock market simulation game in which students will compete as they build and trade stock portfolios. Current periodicals and the Internet will be used, financial and economic news will be analyzed, and guest speakers will be invited in. This is an elective course and cannot be used to meet the graduation requirements in social studies.
Grading Policy: 60% Projects and Activies 30% Tests, Quizzes, Notebook Check 10% Class participation - effort and attitude included here. Extra credit opportunities will be available
