ENTREPRENEURSHIP
North Shore Middle School
Welcome to Entrepreneurship!
Fasten your seatbelt for an eight week adventure into the exciting and fast paced world of Entrepreneurship. During the cycle we will answer the following questions:
- What is entrepreneurship?
- What does it take to be a successful entrepreneur?
- Where do ideas for new businesses come from?
- Is entrepreneurship right for me?
Students will explore the definition, risks, and rewards of entrepreneurship through case studies of successful teenage and famous entrepreneurs. While working collaboratively in Business Development Teams, students will brainstorm new business ideas, develop a business plan, and execute many of the creative aspects of a new business launch (including an advertising campaign to promote their product or service). During the last week of the cycle students will showcase their new business concepts at an Entrepreneurship Expo. This is where “potential investors” (faculty and administrators) will decide which projects to fund with their limited investment dollars. The top three teams receiving the largest investment will receive “Young Entrepreneurship Awards”.
Course Grading Policy:
70% Projects and Activities
30% Participation and Class Binders (keep class handouts and notes organized)
Extra credit opportunities will be available during the cycle!!
